Daily Denture Care

Handle with care. Dentures can break if dropped, so always handle them gently over a folded towel or basin of water to prevent accidental damage.

Brush daily. Just like natural teeth, dentures need daily cleaning. Use a soft-bristle brush and non-abrasive cleanser specifically designed for dentures to remove plaque, food particles, stains, and bacteria. Avoid regular toothpaste, which can be too abrasive.

Clean your mouth. Even with dentures, your gums, tongue, and palate need attention. Brush these areas gently each day with a soft toothbrush to maintain oral hygiene and stimulate circulation.

Give them a break. Remove your dentures for a few hours each day—many people choose to do this overnight—to allow your gums to rest and recover from the pressure of wearing dentures.

Soak overnight. Keep your dentures moist when you're not wearing them to prevent warping and maintain their shape. Soak them in a denture cleaning solution or plain water overnight.

Avoid hot water. Never use hot or boiling water on your dentures, as high temperatures can cause them to warp and lose their fit.
